Motorola Debuts Canopy Wireless Extension for HFC Networks

Motorola introduced a strand-mounted, MOTOwi4 Canopy solution that enables cable operators to quickly deploy wireless extensions to their existing networks.

The Motorola Canopy solution, part of the MOTOwi4 wireless access solutions, integrates a DOCSIS 2.0-compatible hardened cable modem and pre-WiMax access point constructed to withstand and perform in all outdoor conditions. The unit is line-powered and supports dedicated licensed spectrum at 2.3 GHz, 2.5GHz and 3.5 GHz.
