Nokia has secured a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar extension deal with Bharti Airtel to supply advanced 4G and 5G equipment for India. The agreement strengthens a long-standing partnership between the two companies, enabling Airtel to scale its network infrastructure with Nokia’s latest AirScale portfolio and ReefShark-powered Massive MIMO radios. The upgrade will deliver enhanced 5G capacity, coverage, and energy efficiency while preparing Airtel’s network for future 5G-Advanced evolution. Nokia’s AI-driven MantaRay Network Management solution will also play a key role in optimizing network operations, monitoring, and support.

Bharti Airtel’s Vice Chairman and MD, Gopal Vittal, emphasized the importance of the deal for future-proofing Airtel’s network and delivering an eco-friendly, top-tier user experience. Pekka Lundmark, Nokia’s President and CEO, highlighted the companies’ shared commitment to energy efficiency and network innovation. This partnership builds on two decades of collaboration and aligns with Airtel’s Green 5G Initiative to reduce carbon emissions, reinforcing Nokia’s strategic footprint in India’s rapidly evolving telecom market.
