A A

Nokia has been selected to modernize Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation’s (VATM) communication network with its multi-service IP/MPLS solution, replacing the legacy Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) system. The upgrade aims to enhance security, reliability, and efficiency in air traffic management, supporting Vietnam’s rapidly growing aviation sector. The new transport network will provide mission-critical applications for the Ho Chi Minh City Air Traffic Control Center (ATCC), ensuring compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.

The advanced network, set to be operational in the second quarter of 2025, will improve air traffic control operations with increased flexibility, programmability, and advanced analytics. Nokia’s solution will streamline VATM’s operations, optimize network performance, and provide a more resilient infrastructure for managing air traffic. The Quantum-Safe Network (QSN)-ready system will equip VATM with future-proof security against emerging cyber threats.

By leveraging Nokia’s networking expertise, VATM will enhance communication reliability and overall safety within Vietnam’s airspace. The solution supports critical applications required for modern air traffic management, ensuring a high-performance infrastructure capable of handling increasing air traffic demands.

  • VATM will replace its legacy SDH transport system with Nokia’s IP/MPLS solution.
  • The upgraded network will enhance security, reliability, and efficiency in air traffic management.
  • The new system will support Ho Chi Minh City’s ATCC and comply with ICAO standards.
  • Nokia’s Quantum-Safe Network (QSN)-ready solution will provide enhanced cybersecurity.
  • The modernized network is expected to be operational by Q2 2025.
