POET Technologies Expands Board with Appointment of Bob Tirva

POET Technologies announced the appointment of Bob Tirva to its Board of Directors and Audit Committee, effective December 5, 2024. This appointment expands the board to six members. Mr. Tirva brings over 30 years of experience in the technology industry, including leadership roles at IBM, Broadcom, and Dropbox. He will serve until the company’s next annual shareholder meeting or until a successor is appointed.

• New Board Member: Bob Tirva, with extensive executive and advisory experience, joins POET’s Board and Audit Committee.

• Professional Background: Tirva’s notable roles include President, COO, and CFO at Sonim Technologies, as well as leadership positions at Broadcom and Resonant, Inc.

• Board Composition: The board now includes Dr. Suresh Venkatesan (Chairman & CEO), Jean-Louis Malinge (Lead Independent Director), Theresa Lan Ende, Glen Riley, Chris Tsiofas, and Bob Tirva.

• Compensation: Tirva will receive 18,823 stock options, vesting over seven months, and US$17,500 in cash payments.

• Company Profile: POET Technologies specializes in high-speed optical modules and engines for AI systems and hyperscale data centers, leveraging its patented POET Optical Interposer™ for integration of electronic and photonic devices.

• Global Presence: POET operates in Toronto, Allentown, Shenzhen, and Singapore, addressing key markets in AI, 5G, edge computing, and autonomous vehicles.
