Telxius has integrated Synamedia’s Quortex Switch platform into its global CDN infrastructure, enabling content providers to adopt dynamic multi-CDN strategies with real-time traffic steering. The deployment allows streaming providers to switch between CDNs mid-stream based on Quality of Experience (QoE), network conditions, and cost, aiming to improve delivery performance and expand global reach.
The integration connects Telxius’ carrier-grade CDN—built on its Tier 1 IP backbone and subsea cable systems—into the Quortex Switch SaaS platform. Telxius operates more than 100,000 km of fiber, including nine submarine cable systems, 100 points of presence (PoPs), and 26 landing stations and data centers. This infrastructure provides end-to-end control over traffic delivery, supporting scalability, resilience, and cost optimization across CDN deployments.
Quortex Switch, introduced in March 2025, uses open-standard content steering to dynamically optimize traffic without requiring SDKs or player modifications. The platform enables mid-stream switching for uninterrupted video playback and provides APIs for rapid onboarding of additional CDNs. The architecture supports disaster recovery scenarios and multi-CDN orchestration at scale, targeting content providers seeking greater flexibility and operational efficiency in global streaming delivery.

“Our carrier-grade CDN leverages our extensive global infrastructure to deliver superior performance, reliability, and security. Now, with the addition of Quortex Switch, our content provider customers will be able to take their streaming services to the next level, enhancing the QoE for streaming viewers as well as end-to-end control.” — Mónica Martínez, CMO of Telxius
🌐 Analysis: The move reflects growing adoption of multi-CDN architectures as streaming providers seek to balance performance, cost, and resilience across increasingly distributed audiences. Vendors such as Synamedia are aligning with open content steering standards to reduce integration friction, while infrastructure providers like Telxius are leveraging subsea and backbone assets to differentiate CDN performance at a global scale.
