Telxius has enhanced its Global Carrier Ethernet (GCE) service to offer enterprises and service providers bandwidth flexibility ranging from 50Mbps to over 100Gbps. The upgraded service is powered by Ciena’s advanced optical technology and supported by Telxius’ global network, which spans 100,000+ km of submarine cables and terrestrial backhauls, connecting key global hubs in the Americas and Europe. The solution caters to the growing demand for ultra-low latency, high availability, and reliable connectivity, making it ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications and digital transformation initiatives.

The GCE service is MEF 3.0 certified and leverages Telxius’ ecosystem of 14 high-capacity subsea cables, including Marea, Brusa, Dunant, Firmina, and Tikal, along with almost 100 points of presence (PoPs) across 17 countries and 27 data centers. By utilizing optical pluggables instead of traditional transponders, the service enables seamless scaling and greater cost efficiency for customers. Telxius also provides additional capacity, colocation, IP, and security services, offering a comprehensive suite of connectivity solutions for global enterprises.

“At Telxius, we are constantly evolving our network with new and enhanced systems to better support our customers and accelerate digital transformation,” said Mónica Martínez, CMO at Telxius. “We provide enterprises and service providers with the flexible, seamless connectivity options they need to thrive in today’s bandwidth-hungry digital landscape.”

• Flexible Bandwidth: Offers scalable options from 50Mbps to over 100Gbps for enterprises and service providers.

• Global Reach: Network spans 100,000+ km with 14 high-capacity subsea cables, 100 PoPs in 17 countries, and 27 data centers.

• Enhanced Technology: Powered by Ciena’s optical pluggables, eliminating the need for traditional transponders.

• Certifications and Applications: MEF 3.0 certified, supporting low-latency connectivity for cloud providers, global enterprises, and key digital hubs.

• Subsea Cable Highlights: Key cables include Marea, Brusa, Firmina, Dunant, and Tikal (in progress).

“With Ciena’s advanced optical technology, Telxius has the ability to reach beyond 100Gbps circuits across its existing submarine network, supporting the ever-increasing demands of global enterprises and service providers with ultra-low latency,” said Fernando Capella, Regional Director of CALA South at Ciena.
