VeriFone and D-Link Develop Wi-Fi Enabled POS Terminals

VeriFone and D-Link Latin America have developed a Wi-Fi-based payment solution for Point of Sale (POS) terminals. The solution enables all dial-up traffic from multiple POS terminals or multiple merchants to be consolidated on a single line or high-speed link. The companies said credit card transaction speed is 350% faster, averaging around four seconds for a transaction, than for dial-up processing. The solution has been installed in the Mall of San Marino in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
