8×8 lowered the price of its residential, flat rate, broadband VoIP service to $19.99 per month. In addition, 8×8 has eliminated equipment fees and there are no long-term commitments. The service, which is available to anyone with a broadband connection in the US, provides unlimited local and long distance calling in the US and Canada, a direct dial phone number which a choice of area codes, voice mail, caller ID, call forwarding, online account management and real-time billing. The service can also be ordered with a broadband video phone.
