Broadcom Ships 10 Millionth Gigabit Ethernet Over Copper PHY Port

Broadcom has shipped its 10 millionth Gigabit Ethernet over copper port. The company said it has announced almost 200 design wins since introducing the technology in May 1999. Broadcom has delivered 13 different Gigabit PHY chips to the networking market, as well as five integrated MAC/PHY chips for Network Interface Card (NIC) applications and two custom ASICs with integrated Gigabit PHYs.
