Bharti Airtel has deepened its collaboration with Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) to deploy Ericsson’s 5G Core network solutions across India. The rollout will enable Airtel to transition toward a fully operational 5G Standalone (SA) network, enhancing network capacity and unlocking new capabilities for consumers and enterprises.

As part of the agreement, Ericsson will implement its Signaling Controller solution within Airtel’s network. Additionally, Airtel will integrate Ericsson’s 5G SA-enabled Charging and Policy solution to support new monetization models. The partnership builds on more than 25 years of collaboration between the two companies, including Ericsson’s role in providing Airtel’s first 5G contract in India.

• Deployment focus: Ericsson’s 5G Core solutions for 5G Standalone transition

• New capabilities: Signaling Controller, Charging and Policy solution for network monetization

• Strategic impact: Enhances network capacity and supports advanced services via network slicing and APIs

• Partnership history: More than 25 years of collaboration, spanning multiple mobile generations

“Ericsson’s 5G Core solutions will play a pivotal role in Airtel’s long-term 5G strategy, boosting network capacity and enabling the delivery of innovative, differentiated services to customers,” said Randeep Sekhon, CTO, Bharti Airtel.
