Com21 Files Voluntary Chapter 11

Com21, a supplier of cable broadband access equipment, voluntarily filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. bankruptcy code. The company intends to use the Chapter 11 process to restructure its operations. It plans to sell certain key assets including the DOCSIS CMTS product line and Com21’s Irish subsidiary to ARRIS International, while retaining selected employees to facilitate the sale of those assets.
