du has signed an agreement with PEACE Cable International Network Co. Limited (PEACE) to land the PEACE Cable System in the UAE, reinforcing the country’s position as a global hub for connectivity and digital innovation. The agreement will enhance digital transformation and connectivity for du’s Wholesale and Enterprise customers, leveraging the high-capacity PEACE Cable infrastructure.

The PEACE Cable is an open-access submarine cable system designed to deliver ultra-high-speed, secure, and resilient connections. The collaboration includes the construction of the PEACE Gulf Extension, which will integrate the UAE into a broader network spanning over 22,000 km across Asia, Africa, and Europe. This development will improve network performance and managed services throughout the region.

  • Planned Readiness by 2026 – The PEACE Cable is set to be operational in the second half of 2026.

This collaboration will bring about significant economic and digital advancements, ensuring our customers enjoy unparalleled reliability and value,” said Karim Benkirane, Chief Commercial Officer at du.

  • The Pakistan and East Africa Connecting Europe (PEACE) cable ism rivately owned by PEACE Cable International Network Co., Limited, a subsidiary of China’s Hengtong Group. The project has seen significant collaboration with key partners such as PCCW Global and Orange S.A., who have facilitated landing arrangements and infrastructure support in various regions. The cable’s landing points include Marseille (France), Abu Talat and Zafarana (Egypt), Mombasa (Kenya), Victoria (Seychelles), Haramous CLS (Djibouti), Berbera (Somaliland), Karachi (Pakistan), Kulhudhuffushi (Maldives), and Tuas (Singapore). Additionally, privately owned branches extend to Geroskipou (Cyprus), Mellieħa (Malta), Bizerte (Tunisia), and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
