ECI Telecom Unveils Layer 2 Encryption for Ethernet Networks

June 3, 2007
in Uncategorized
A A

ECI Telecom introduced an advanced encryption solution that protects all types of data transmission over high-speed Ethernet networks. Target applications include government and military telecommunications.

ECI’s Aurora-G card offers Layer-2 encryption and is integrated into ECI’s flagship XDM Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP) and All-Range ROADM solution. Aurora-G’s functionalities, including its encryption keys, are managed remotely by ECI’s LightSoft network management system.

The Aurora-G encrypts high-capacity Ethernet traffic with the strongest encryption method available today – AES-256. Any piece of data that is not encrypted with the correct key or that was modified in any way is rejected, thus safeguarding the network. ECI Telecom said its Aurora-G does not affect delay-sensitive applications, such as video, due to its extremely low latency. It operates transparently in the network, not affecting quality of service, and guaranteeing the original high throughput and capacity of the network.
