Moving Up the Stack with NaaS

How is Network as a Service (NaaS) shaping the future of global connectivity? Erin Dunne, Director of Research Services from Vertical Systems Group, shares some insights:

– The importance of underlay connectivity elements in the global NaaS market is increasing. As we move up the stack to enable automated services, layer one and two services like wavelengths and ethernet become crucial.
– Enterprises are seeking simplicity. If NaaS can provide a straightforward way to enable automated services, it will dictate the direction of the market.
– Service providers and equipment vendors are also looking for simplicity. The use of APIs and standards, as discussed by MEF, are key to enabling automated services across multiple vendors, creating an ecosystem of services that are simple, cost-efficient, secure, and automated.
