NETGEAR Prices Layer 3 Gigabit Switch at $145 Per Port

NETGEAR introduced a 24-port Layer 3 managed Gigabit switch with an estimated street price of $3,399, which equates to under $142 per port. The switch combines both Layer 2 and Layer 3 managed switching functionality with QoS and access control capabilities, making it suitable as a backbone for 10/100 switches, GigE enabled servers or an all-Gigabit network. The switch features 24 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-sensing, auto-negotiating, and Auto Uplink copper Gigabit Ethernet ports. It also provides four optional hot-swappable small form-factor pluggable (SFP) modules for fiber connections.
