Rapidus and Cadence announced a collaboration to integrate the Cadence InnoStack AI Super Agent into the Rapidus AI-Agentic Design Solution (Raads), extending agentic AI across advanced-node system-on-chip (SoC) development. The companies said the integration combines Rapidus’ AI-native semiconductor design and manufacturing ecosystem with Cadence’s AI-driven design orchestration technology to improve engineering productivity, shorten development cycles and enhance design quality. Rapidus is targeting up to a 2X improvement in design turnaround time (TAT) compared to traditional semiconductor design flows.
The collaboration extends the Rapidus Raads platform with two new capabilities: Raads Navigator and Raads Indicator. These tools provide AI-assisted quality assurance, design guidance and issue resolution while working alongside the Cadence InnoStack AI Super Agent to orchestrate complex SoC workflows. The integrated environment automates tasks spanning architectural exploration, implementation and signoff, using AI-driven optimization to improve design predictability and help engineering teams manage the growing complexity of advanced-node semiconductor development.
Rapidus plans to showcase the collaboration at CadenceLIVE Japan 2026, where CEO Dr. Atsuyoshi Koike will discuss the evolution of the Raads platform and its integration with Cadence AI technologies. The initiative aligns with Rapidus’ broader strategy of building an AI-native semiconductor ecosystem that spans design, manufacturing, advanced packaging and system integration as the company develops its next-generation advanced-node foundry.
• Cadence InnoStack AI Super Agent becomes integrated into the Rapidus Raads AI-Agentic Design Solution.
• Rapidus introduced Raads Navigator and Raads Indicator for AI-assisted design guidance and quality assurance.
• Integration automates workflow orchestration from architecture through implementation and signoff.
• Rapidus targets up to a 2X improvement in advanced-node design turnaround time.
• Collaboration supports AI-native semiconductor development across design, manufacturing and packaging.
“By combining Cadence’s InnoStack AI Super Agent with Rapidus’ Raads platform, we are extending agentic AI into a leading-edge semiconductor ecosystem, enabling customers to improve productivity, accelerate design closure and bring more advanced silicon to market faster,” said Anirudh Devgan, president and CEO of Cadence.
🌐 Analysis
This announcement reflects the next phase of AI adoption in electronic design automation (EDA). Rather than applying AI to isolated optimization tasks, vendors are increasingly deploying agentic AI capable of coordinating multiple design tools and engineering workflows across the complete semiconductor development process. The objective is to reduce engineering iteration cycles while improving predictability as chip complexity continues to increase at leading-edge process nodes.
For Rapidus, the collaboration strengthens its strategy of differentiating its emerging advanced-node foundry with an AI-native development environment rather than focusing solely on manufacturing technology. For Cadence, the partnership expands its AI Super Agent strategy beyond individual EDA applications into broader semiconductor ecosystems that integrate design, manufacturing and packaging. Competition in AI-enabled EDA continues to intensify as Cadence, Synopsys and Siemens EDA all invest in increasingly autonomous design flows for AI infrastructure, HPC and advanced semiconductor customers.
