Softbank Mobile has selected Ericsson for an upgrade of its 3G network.
Specifically, Ericsson is delivering RBS6000 HSPA/LTE multi standard base stations. The upgraded network will use multi-carrier HSPA technology which provides speeds up to 42Mbps for the most data dense areas in Japan: the Tokyo, Kansai and Tokai (Nagoya) regions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
