Verizon suffered a widespread service outage on Tuesday that disrupted connectivity for customers across parts of the United States, prompting the carrier to deploy engineering teams in the field and issue a public apology as restoration efforts continued into the evening. The company acknowledged that the disruption affected voice and data services for some users, creating significant inconvenience throughout the day.
Verizon has not yet disclosed the root cause of the outage or the number of customers impacted, but confirmed that progress was underway and that work would continue overnight if necessary.
The carrier also committed to remediation for affected customers. Verizon said it plans to issue account credits and provide further updates once service restoration is complete, signaling an effort to address both the technical failure and customer impact.
