Verizon Business launched Verizon AI Connect, a suite of solutions and products designed to enable businesses to manage AI workloads at scale. As AI workloads shift towards real-time decision-making, known as inferencing, demand for computational power and low-latency connectivity is surging. By leveraging its 5G network, high-speed fiber connectivity, and advanced edge computing infrastructure, Verizon is addressing these needs for hyperscalers, cloud providers, and global enterprises. Early adopters of Verizon AI Connect include Google Cloud and Meta, both of which are already utilizing Verizon’s expanded capabilities for their AI operations.

Verizon said it is reimagining its existing assets to create an AI ecosystem that integrates network, compute, and security solutions. With 60-70% of AI workloads expected to require real-time inferencing by 2030, Verizon’s focus on programmable and scalable network infrastructure positions it as a leader in delivering AI capabilities. Verizon has also expanded its AI ecosystem by forming strategic partnerships with industry leaders like NVIDIA, Vultr, and Google Cloud, further enhancing its ability to support resource-intensive AI applications.

Kyle Malady, CEO of Verizon Business, highlighted the importance of reliable infrastructure in enabling AI innovation: “Our best-in-class edge-to-cloud connectivity and programmable network allow us to meet the needs of today’s AI workloads while preparing for the demands of tomorrow. Through Verizon AI Connect, we’re accelerating the development and deployment of AI-powered services, helping businesses innovate faster and operate smarter.”

Key Points:

• Verizon AI Connect: A strategy and suite of solutions designed to support AI workloads at scale using Verizon’s 5G, fiber, and edge computing infrastructure.

• Early Adopters: Google Cloud and Meta are leveraging Verizon’s expanded capacity for AI workload management.

• Strategic Partnerships:

• NVIDIA: Collaborating to integrate GPU-based platforms into Verizon’s 5G private networks.

• Vultr: Partnering to enhance global GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) capabilities for Verizon customers.

• Google Cloud: Joint development of AI solutions for network maintenance and performance optimization.

• Meta: Expanding collaboration into network infrastructure to support predictive and intelligent AI capabilities.

• AI Innovation Focus: Verizon aims to meet the growing demand for real-time AI inferencing with scalable, low-latency solutions designed for hyperscalers, enterprises, and cloud providers.

  • In December 2024, Vultr secured $333 million in growth financing, led by LuminArx Capital Management and AMD Ventures, elevating its valuation to $3.5 billion.  The company also announced plans to build its first “supercompute” cluster with thousands of AMD GPUs at its Chicago-area data center, aiming to enhance its AI cloud service offerings.
