Tower Semiconductor and Innolight have expanded their collaboration to ramp up high-volume production of next-generation silicon photonics (SiPho) solutions for AI and data center applications. Tower’s latest SiPho platform, now in production, reduces the number of external optical components in optical transceivers, cutting the number of lasers required per module by half. This innovation streamlines module design, lowers costs, and strengthens supply chain efficiency for hyperscale data center operators.

As demand for high-speed optical connectivity accelerates, the partnership will support the transition to 100Gbps per lane (400G/800G), 200Gbps per lane (1.6T), and future 400Gbps per lane (3.2T) optical modules. The new SiPho platform features improved edge coupling efficiency and high-performance modulators, enabling scalability and reliability for AI-driven cloud infrastructure. By reducing complexity and laser dependency, the solution enhances cost-effectiveness and long-term sustainability for data center networks.

Innolight is integrating Tower’s SiPho technology into its high-speed optical modules to optimize performance and address the evolving needs of AI and cloud computing. This collaboration reflects Tower Semiconductor’s commitment to advancing SiPho solutions through continued investment in technology development and capacity expansion.

• Tower Semiconductor and Innolight expand SiPho collaboration for AI and data centers.

• New SiPho platform cuts the number of lasers required per module by half.

• Supports 100Gbps, 200Gbps, and 400Gbps per lane optical modules.

• Enhances scalability, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience.

• Partnership strengthens Innolight’s high-speed optical module portfolio.

Dr. Sheng Liu, CEO of Innolight, said, “Utilizing Tower’s new SiPho platform, we deliver superior performance, cost, and supply chain resilience for our hyperscale customers. Our partnership with Tower continues to yield best-in-class offerings.”
