Telkom Indonesia Selects Tekelec's Softswitch

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) is deploying Tekelec’s SanterOne Class 4 softswitch to begin replacing its circuit-based switching infrastructure. The trunk-level switching solution is being deployed in geographically dispersed locations in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya to handle the increase in long-distance and interconnection traffic. Initially, the solution will include 50,000 circuit trunks, expanding to more than 500,000 ports. Terms of the multimillion dollar contract were not disclosed. http://www.tekelec.com
