BT Deploys Lucent Optical Platforms in the Netherlands

BT will deploy Lucent Technologies’ optical networking platforms in the Netherlands to upgrade its local optical networks. BT’s Dutch Optical Network will be based on Lucent’s Metropolis AM SDH optical multiplexer and the WaveStar ADM 16/1 multiplexer, with TransLAN technology for Ethernet transport capability between customers’ businesses in multiple locations. The WaveStar TDM 10G with Gigabit Ethernet transport capability, the WaveStar ADM 16/1 multiplexer and the OLS80G and OLS 400G DWDM infrastructure form the core network. BT Netherlands will use the upgrade to deliver Ethernet-over-SDH services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
