BerryComm has expanded its fiber-optic network in Central Indiana with Nokia’s optical networking technology, enhancing high-speed broadband access for homes and businesses. The deployment includes a 100+ mile (160+ km) backbone from Indianapolis to Logansport, leveraging Nokia’s 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) with coherent optics and Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) technology. This upgrade strengthens BerryComm’s ability to deliver scalable, high-capacity broadband services while reducing reliance on third-party carriers for last-mile connectivity.

With Nokia’s optical networking solutions, BerryComm can ensure greater network reliability and future-proof its infrastructure to support speeds of 100G and beyond. The expansion aims to improve connectivity for both residential and business customers, enabling mission-critical applications and maximizing operational efficiency. The initiative aligns with BerryComm’s mission to bridge the digital divide and foster economic growth in underserved communities.
