Cologix has secured 154 acres in Johnstown, Ohio, to build a cutting-edge data center campus. The project includes eight AI-ready facilities offering 800MW of scalable capacity across 2.0 million square feet. This investment enhances the company’s position as a key player in North America’s digital infrastructure and boosts Central Ohio’s role in supporting hyperscale and hybrid cloud needs. Development on the first phase will start in 2025.
The new campus aims to deliver ultra-low latency and sustainable infrastructure for hyperscalers and enterprises while bolstering Central Ohio’s digital economy. Cologix currently operates four data centers in Columbus, encompassing 500,000 square feet and 80MW of power. These facilities are interconnected by a fiber ring that supports over 50 network and cloud providers and includes direct access to AWS and Google Cloud onramps.
“This eight-data-center campus represents a significant step in our commitment to meeting evolving customer demands,” said Laura Ortman, CEO of Cologix. The project aligns with the region’s priorities, with Mayor Donald Barnard calling it a “catalyst for positive momentum” in Johnstown. Cologix will continue engaging local stakeholders to ensure long-term economic and technological benefits.
