Google Commits to Wind Power for Finnish Data Center

Google has committed to purchase the entire output power of a new wind farm in northern Sweden for the next decade to power its data center in Finland.

Specifically, O2, the wind farm developer, will build a new 72MW wind farm at Maevaara, in Övertorneå and Pajala municipality in northern Sweden. Allianz will provide 100% of the financing for the project. The wind farm is expected to be come online in 2015.
