Intel has introduced its Xeon 6 processors, designed to enhance AI and networking workloads with improved performance and efficiency. The launch includes the Xeon 6700P and 6500P series processors, which feature Performance-cores (P-cores) for increased computing power and AI acceleration. These processors double memory bandwidth compared to previous generations, offering greater scalability for data centers, networking infrastructure, and edge applications.

The Xeon 6 lineup also includes processors tailored for network and edge deployments, integrating Intel’s vRAN Boost technology. These chips deliver up to 2.4x the capacity for radio access network (RAN) workloads while optimizing power efficiency. Intel aims to support next-generation AI and telecommunications applications with these new offerings.

  • Xeon 6 Performance-cores (P-cores): Higher AI processing efficiency and double memory bandwidth.
  • AI-Optimized: Achieves up to 1.5x better AI inference performance compared to AMD’s 5th Gen EPYC processors.
  • Network & Edge Processing: Integrated vRAN Boost enhances RAN capacity by up to 2.4x.
  • Energy Efficiency: Supports up to 5:1 server consolidation with potential cost savings of up to 68% in total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • New Ethernet Solutions: Intel’s Ethernet E830 and E610 series controllers deliver up to 200GbE bandwidth and improved power efficiency.

“Xeon 6 delivers the industry’s best CPU for AI and groundbreaking features for networking, while simultaneously driving efficiency and reducing total cost of ownership,” said Michelle Johnston Holthaus, interim co-CEO of Intel and CEO of Intel Products.
