Lightpath Enters Phoenix Market with AI-Ready Fiber Network

Lightpath has entered the Phoenix market with a new 230-route-mile, high-fiber-count network designed to support AI-grade connectivity requirements. Anchored by multiple hyperscaler customers, the network will connect 8 data center campuses and major carrier hotels, with additional connectivity to more than 30 data center campuses near the planned routes.

The Phoenix network will feature underground, multi-conduit systems with a capacity of 20,000 fibers, connecting key data center ecosystems in Goodyear, Buckeye, Chandler, Glendale, Mesa, and Tempe. Construction has already begun, with priority routes expected to be completed by Q2 2025 and full completion scheduled for 2026. The network will provide high-count dark fiber, conduit services, wavelengths up to 800 Gbps, Ethernet, and Internet connectivity.

Lightpath’s Phoenix network is designed to meet the growing demand for AI-related connectivity, supporting hyperscaler initiatives that require 10 times the capacity of current multi-cloud architectures. In 2024, Lightpath secured $110 million in AI-related bookings and anticipates continued demand, driven by enterprises, educators, governments, carriers, and wireless providers in the region.
