Nokia Expands Agentic AI Capabilities

Nokia has introduced new Agentic AI capabilities within its autonomous networks portfolio, aiming to help Communication Service Providers (CSPs) improve network automation, security, and monetization. The latest enhancements, leveraging telco-trained large language models (LLMs) and AI-driven analytics, enable faster threat detection, streamlined service creation, and improved network management. Nokia plans to showcase these advancements at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona.

The company has embedded new AI-powered security features, including the Threat Hunt Assistant within its NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome. This tool reduces the time to detect and neutralize threats from days to minutes using AI-powered threat intelligence and network telemetry. Nokia has also expanded its subscriber experience analytics with Generative AI, allowing CSP engineers to retrieve insights and generate reports through natural language interactions. Additionally, Nokia’s Digital Operations Center now integrates Agentic AI to automate service orchestration, fulfillment, and assurance tasks, with AI agents assisting in troubleshooting and anomaly detection.

Nokia’s AI-driven approach is designed to accelerate the industry’s transition toward Level 4/5 network autonomy. The new AI capabilities aim to improve CSPs’ operational efficiency, enhance security posture, and shorten the development cycle for new AI use cases from six months to four weeks. Nokia Bell Labs’ AI models further contribute to anomaly detection and network fault prediction.

“CSPs around the world are actively pursuing higher levels of network autonomy to achieve increased operational efficiency and offer their customers personalized experiences. AI is the catalyst to unlock L4/L5 autonomy, manage complexity, and orchestrate actions across network domains and operational functions,” said Kal De, SVP Product and Engineering, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia.
