NTT DATA and AWS Expand Strategic Collaboration

NTT DATA signed a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Amazon Web Services to accelerate enterprise cloud modernization and agentic AI adoption across regulated and high-growth industries. Announced in London on January 29, the agreement targets large-scale migration of legacy workloads, development of industry-specific cloud solutions, and responsible deployment of AI at enterprise scale.

The collaboration centers on four priority areas: AI-driven cloud transformation using generative and agentic AI on AWS; repeatable industry cloud solutions across sectors such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and the public sector; AI-enabled managed services and customer experience platforms, including contact center modernization on Amazon Connect; and digital sovereignty through AWS European Sovereign Cloud, where NTT DATA serves as a launch partner delivering sovereign-by-design managed services.

To support execution, NTT DATA formed a dedicated AWS Business Group aligned with AWS sales and delivery teams, comprising nearly 11,000 AWS-certified professionals and a plan to certify close to 10,000 more over the next three years. Early customer traction includes Honda Trading Asia, which migrated core systems to AWS with NTT DATA’s support to establish an AI-ready cloud foundation.

  • Dedicated AWS Business Group includes ~11,000 certified experts, with 10,000 more targeted over three years
  • Industry use cases span financial services, healthcare and life sciences, public sector, manufacturing, automotive, retail, and energy

“Through our Strategic Collaboration Agreement with AWS, we are helping clients move beyond experimentation to scale AI impactfully and responsibly,” said Abhijit Dubey, President and CEO, NTT DATA, Inc. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to deliver secure, industry-specific solutions that create tangible business value for our clients worldwide.”

🌐  Analysis

The expanded collaboration reflects growing enterprise demand for structured, industry-aligned AI adoption rather than isolated pilots, particularly in regulated environments. It also reinforces AWS’s push around sovereign cloud offerings in Europe, where hyperscalers increasingly rely on systems integrators like NTT DATA to bridge compliance, modernization, and AI execution at scale.
