Jabil Expands Server Portfolio

Jabil expanded its server portfolio with the launch of two new models, the J421E-S and J422-S, powered by AMD’s 5th Generation EPYC and Intel Xeon® 6 processors. These servers are designed to meet the scalability requirements of cloud data centers, supporting applications in AI, high-performance computing (HPC), fintech, networking, storage, and security. Both platforms aim to provide the flexibility needed for various workloads while maintaining high performance and cost-effectiveness.

The J422-S, a dual-socket 2U rackmount server, runs on Intel® Xeon® 6 processors and offers customizable I/O options, including NVMe, SAS, and SATA hot-pluggable storage. This server supports up to 288 cores, making it ideal for demanding cloud and data center infrastructures. Meanwhile, the J421E-S, a single-socket server featuring AMD’s EPYC™ Zen5 processors, supports up to 192 cores and is optimized for high-performance computing environments with a focus on performance per core.

Both models support Modular Hardware Systems (MHS) and feature Jabil’s custom BIOS and BMC firmware for enhanced flexibility and security. The server platforms are currently available for sampling, with full production scheduled for the first half of 2025.
