Ericsson and Ooredoo Qatar signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Web Summit Qatar to accelerate digital transformation for enterprises and public sector organizations in the country. The agreement focuses on co-developing private and dedicated 5G network solutions tailored for industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, airports, public safety, rail, and digital airspace operations. Ericsson will provide its Private 5G platform and mission-critical network solutions, which enable high-speed 4G and 5G connectivity through a dual-mode core and a broad radio portfolio.
The collaboration aims to meet specific requirements such as network availability, multi-network operation, coverage and capacity, security, and Quality of Service (QoS) with features like priority and preemption. Additionally, Ericsson and Ooredoo will explore sustainability initiatives by leveraging 5G to help decarbonize industries and contribute to Qatar’s broader environmental goals. The partnership will also include knowledge-sharing activities, joint workshops, and engagements with local enterprises and public sector stakeholders.
Ooredoo Qatar plans to use the partnership to accelerate time-to-market for new services, address evolving enterprise connectivity demands, and tap into new revenue streams. Ericsson will introduce ecosystem partners and global best practices to support Ooredoo’s efforts to drive digitalization and sustainable growth across key sectors.
