In Focus: Ultra Ethernet

🌐 Ultra Ethernet
Open Ethernet Architecture for AI and High-Performance Computing
Ultra Ethernet is an open networking architecture developed through the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC) to optimize Ethernet for large-scale AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. The architecture extends standard Ethernet with advanced transport, congestion management, telemetry, reliability, and load-balancing capabilities required to support hyperscale GPU clusters while preserving the openness and interoperability of Ethernet.
Why It MattersModern AI training and inference clusters require predictable latency, rapid congestion recovery, efficient load balancing, and maximum network utilization across tens of thousands of accelerators. Ultra Ethernet introduces transport innovations designed specifically for distributed AI, enabling Ethernet to scale as a high-performance fabric for next-generation AI infrastructure.
