Bloom Energy, Oracle Scale Fuel Cell Deal to 2.8 GW

Bloom Energy and Oracle expanded their strategic partnership to support large-scale AI and cloud infrastructure deployments, with a master agreement covering up to 2.8 GW of fuel cell capacity. The companies have already contracted an initial 1.2 GW, now deploying across Oracle projects in the United States as demand accelerates for high-density compute environments.

The agreement centers on Bloom’s solid oxide fuel cell systems, which provide onsite, distributed power designed for rapid deployment and load-following performance. These characteristics align with the power profiles of AI workloads, where clusters require stable, high-density energy delivery beyond what traditional grid infrastructure can consistently support. Bloom said its systems are compatible with emerging 800 V DC data center architectures, increasingly adopted in next-generation AI facilities.

The partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward colocated power generation to mitigate grid constraints and reduce time-to-power for new data center builds. Bloom highlighted a prior deployment for Oracle completed in 55 days—well ahead of a planned 90-day timeline—as evidence of accelerated provisioning. The expanded agreement also includes a previously disclosed warrant issued by Bloom to Oracle as part of their commercial relationship.
