Microsoft, Mistral Expand Strategic Partnership to Scale European AI Infrastructure

Microsoft and Mistral announced a major expansion of their strategic partnership, combining a multibillion-dollar infrastructure investment with broader integration of Mistral’s AI models across Microsoft’s AI platform. The agreement centers on expanding AI compute capacity in Europe through Mistral’s deployment of thousands of NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs while making Mistral’s latest frontier models available through Microsoft Foundry, Copilot Studio, Azure, and Azure Local. Organizations can deploy the models across Azure, Azure Local, cloud-connected environments, or fully disconnected installations using a consistent development framework through Microsoft Foundry and Foundry Local. Microsoft and Mistral also plan joint enterprise go-to-market activities, including proof-of-concept funding, Azure credits, and customer workshops targeting regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure.
