Arelion has deployed a new high-capacity route connecting Dallas, Texas, to Tallahassee, Florida, via Houston, Slidell, Louisiana, and Mobile, Alabama. The expansion enhances connectivity for wholesale and enterprise customers, delivering low-latency IP services and terabit-scale capacities. Designed to support the growing demand for AI/ML applications and East-West traffic flows, the route connects East Coast landing stations to Arelion’s network hubs in Texas and Mexico, meeting the needs of booming Gulf Coast data center markets.

The new route provides a fourth diverse path into Tallahassee and strengthens Arelion’s Florida network while adding a Tier 1 internet carrier choice for regional edge markets. It links Mexico’s technology sectors to hyperscale hubs in Dallas and improves connectivity to Atlanta’s data center ecosystem. This development addresses surging customer demand for robust connectivity solutions as AI/ML and cloud applications drive significant regional investments.

Texas remains a key market, ranking as the second-largest data center hub in the United States. Experts forecast Dallas will see a 12.7% CAGR by 2030, while Mexico’s data center investments are projected to reach $3.5 billion by 2025. The Gulf Coast route reflects Arelion’s commitment to bolstering diverse connectivity across critical markets.

• Route Details: Connects Dallas (DataBank – DFW1) to Tallahassee (EdgeConnex – TAL01) via Houston, Slidell, and Mobile.

• Technology: Leverages open optical line systems and 400G coherent optics.

• Launch Timeline: Route to go live in Q1 2025.

• Key Services: Includes IP Transit, Wavelengths, Dedicated Internet Access, Cloud Connect, and DDoS Mitigation.

• Market Impact: Supports AI/ML traffic, data center growth, and cross-border connectivity.

“This route spurs further growth in data center markets along the Gulf Coast through reliable connectivity that supports data transfer and replication for AI/ML models,” said Art Kazmierczak, Director Strategic Sales & Network Development at Arelion.
