A A

AFL has launched the Apex® X-1, the most compact member of its Apex Fiber Optic Closure line, targeting small networks and rural FTTx deployments. Designed to streamline installation, the X-1 draws on features from previous Apex models like the X-2 and X-3 while introducing a “press-to-release” lever mechanism for efficient cable entry and individual sealing. Supporting up to 144 single fibers, 432 mass fusion with standard ribbon, or 864 SpiderWeb Ribbon®, the X-1 simplifies fiber management and improves network reliability.

  • Compact design aids small network and rural fiber deployments.
  • Supports up to 864 SpiderWeb Ribbon® fibers.
  • “Press-to-release” lever allows cable entry without disturbing existing connections.
  • Compatible with AFL’s MicroCore® and Wrapping Tube Cable with SpiderWeb Ribbon®.
  • Variety of accessories and kits enhance installation versatility.

“This new design is a direct response to address a critical market need for compact, reliable splice closure solutions in rural and small network deployments,” said Nicholas Marotta, Global Product Lead.
