GlobalFoundries (Nasdaq: GFS) has appointed Dr. Thomas Caulfield as Executive Chairman and Tim Breen as Chief Executive Officer, effective April 28, 2025. The leadership transition follows a multi-year succession planning process, with Breen succeeding Caulfield as CEO. Niels Anderskouv, currently Chief Business Officer, will take on the role of President and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Caulfield, who led GF as CEO since 2018, played a key role in repositioning the company’s technology focus, steering it toward profitability, and leading its 2021 IPO. Breen, currently GF’s COO, has overseen global operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and IT. Before joining GF in 2018, he held leadership roles at Mubadala Investment Company and served as a partner at McKinsey & Company. Anderskouv, who joined GF in 2023, brings extensive experience in semiconductor engineering and global leadership from his tenure at Texas Instruments.
