A A

LF Broadband has partnered with Broadband Forum to enhance the development of disaggregated, open-source solutions for broadband access networks. The collaboration aims to accelerate innovation by integrating open-source software with established industry standards. This initiative will help drive the growth of modular, intelligent, multi-vendor networks that offer greater interoperability and automation for global broadband providers.

As part of this collaboration, LF Broadband will continue advancing its key projects like SEBA, a reference design for building open broadband networks, and VOLTHA, which virtualizes Passive Optical Network (PON) systems. Broadband Forum will support this effort by bringing its expertise in standards development and providing a platform for stakeholders to collaborate on open standards and software solutions. This partnership will include joint efforts in events, marketing, software development, and testing of solutions to ensure broader adoption across the industry.

According to LF Broadband General Manager Arpit Joshipura, the partnership “unlocks new opportunities for innovation in broadband networks by combining the strengths of open-source technologies and industry standards.”

Key Points:

• LF Broadband and Broadband Forum collaborate to enhance broadband access network solutions.

• The partnership integrates open-source software with industry standards to boost innovation.

• Projects like SEBA and VOLTHA aim to create more modular and intelligent networks.

• The collaboration focuses on events, marketing, standards development, and testing.

• Joint efforts will help drive the deployment of highly automated, multi-vendor networks.
