NTT DATA has announced significant milestones in its Global Data Centers (GDC) division, underscoring its commitment to meeting escalating demands for digital infrastructure in an AI-driven world. With over $10 billion in planned capital investments through 2027, GDC has solidified its position as the world’s third-largest data center provider, achieving an average annual growth rate of 20%. In 2024 alone, NTT DATA invested $2.9 billion in land acquisitions and new developments across North America, EMEA, and APAC, bringing online 10 new data centers with over 370MW of capacity to support growing AI and cloud workloads.

Among the notable developments is a 68.5-acre campus in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, with a planned capacity of 290MW, set to become one of the largest data centers in the APAC region. Additional land acquisitions in Berlin, Frankfurt, Chicago, and Hillsboro, Oregon, represent an expected 800+MW of capacity, ensuring strategic growth in high-demand regions. GDC also advanced its sustainability goals, achieving a 26% reduction in emissions and increasing renewable energy usage to 51% in FY2023. Over 200MW of AI-specific deployments in 2024 highlight the company’s readiness to support next-generation digital transformation needs.

“At NTT DATA, we’re laser-focused on building for the future while delivering scalable, secure, and sustainable infrastructure enterprises need today,” said Doug Adams, CEO and President of NTT Global Data Centers. “These milestones underscore our commitment to empowering the world’s most innovative companies with infrastructure that fuels their continued digital transformation.”
