Vertiv has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Great Lakes Data Racks & Cabinets for $200 million, bolstering its capabilities in high-density, integrated infrastructure solutions for AI, edge, enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale data centers. The deal values Great Lakes at approximately 11.5x expected 2026 EBITDA, factoring in synergies and cross-selling potential. The acquisition is expected to close in Q3 2025, pending regulatory approval under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act.

Headquartered in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, and established in 1985, Great Lakes designs and manufactures standard and custom data racks, seismic enclosures, integrated cabinets, and cable management systems. The company maintains operations in both the U.S. and Europe. Vertiv said the acquisition enhances its ability to deliver pre-engineered, AI-optimized rack solutions with factory-integrated power and cooling capabilities, cutting deployment times and improving scalability.

The combined offering is expected to improve infrastructure sourcing efficiency and strengthen Vertiv’s position in the global data center “white space” market. It also aligns with rising demand for turnkey systems to support dense AI workloads and edge computing environments.

“We strengthen our position as a premier technology solutions provider in the critical white space market,” said Gio Albertazzi, CEO at Vertiv. “Our combined capabilities enable us to deliver comprehensive, engineered infrastructure solutions that go beyond basic integration, addressing the complex challenges of next-generation AI technology.”
