Hyper Photonix showcased its Silicon Photonics-based Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO) product line at OFC 2025. The demonstration aligned with the LPO Multi-Source Agreement (MSA)’s newly announced 100 Gb/s per lane specification for single-mode optical data transmission, supporting 400G and 800G Ethernet. As a contributing member of the LPO MSA, Hyper Photonix played a key role in validating the 100G-DR-LPO specification through multi-vendor interoperability testing.

The 100G-DR-LPO standard marked a major milestone in simplifying optical module design by eliminating the need for digital signal processing (DSP) within the transceiver. This approach significantly reduced power consumption, cost, and latency—critical factors for AI/ML workloads and hyperscale data centers. Hyper Photonix’s LPO modules featured high-speed, low-power performance based on mature Silicon Photonics technology, enabling deployment in scalable network architectures.

Hyper Photonix also supported the LPO MSA’s roadmap to 200 Gb/s per lane implementations and continued to contribute to ongoing standardization efforts. The company highlighted its commitment to enabling reliable, energy-efficient optical interconnects that meet the growing bandwidth demands of next-generation infrastructure. Attendees visited Hyper Photonix at booth #5107 to view its latest LPO offerings.

• Hyper Photonix showcased its LPO product line at OFC 2025 in San Francisco.

• The company contributed to the LPO MSA’s 100 Gb/s per lane specification and validated it through interoperability testing.

• The 100G-DR-LPO standard supported 400G and 800G Ethernet links with lower power, latency, and cost.

• LPO modules eliminated DSPs and leveraged Silicon Photonics for scalable, high-performance interconnects.

• Hyper Photonix backed future LPO MSA development toward 200 Gb/s per lane systems.

“Our LPO product line reflected the company’s commitment to delivering robust and scalable optical interconnect solutions,” said Xavier Clairardin, CEO of Hyper Photonix.
